Laura Adams

Managing Director, Head of Institutional Sales & Trading (MSCL), CEO of Wealth Management Canada (MSWC)

Laura Adams is a Managing Director in Institutional Sales & Trading and Wealth Management. She runs the Canadian Institutional Distribution Team, in addition to being the CEO and UDP of the Canadian Wealth Management Business for Morgan Stanley.  

 

Laura joined Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division in New York City in 2000, where she covered clients managing money for Mutual Funds, Hedge Funds and Deep Value Funds. She transferred to Toronto, Canada in 2004 to rebuild and lead the Institutional Distribution team and deliver global research, insights and solutions to Canadian Institutional clients across the country. Over time, Laura added capabilities to that team including High Touch and Electronic Trading, Equity Derivatives, FX, Prime Brokerage, Credit and Fixed Income Solutions. Laura also acts as Morgan Stanley’s Senior Relationship Manager for the firm’s largest Canadian Asset management clients.  

 

In 2020, Laura was appointed CEO and UDP of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Canada as part of the Morgan Stanley at Work strategy, which offers wealth management services, financial education and financial coaching to the firm’s Canadian corporate clients and their employees.  

 

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Laura worked at American Management Systems in Stockholm, where she ran the business requirement and architecture team for the customer care and billing solutions of Sweden’s largest Telecom provider. Laura graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a BBA in international business and finance. While there, she was an All-American NCAA Division I swimmer. 

 

Laura is an active board member for Morgan Stanley Canada Limited, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Canada and TAS Impact. Laura is married and the mom of three daughters in Toronto.
